Members of this family typically have Oxalic acid in their sap - hence the name Oxalidaceae. In Singapore two kampung fruit trees are often found growing in old gardens and sometimes cultivated as a roadside tree - these are the well known Star Fruit and the lesser known Berlimbing of the Averrhoa genus. |
